Laura graduated from Whitman College in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Economics. In 2003, she received her law degree from the University of Oregon, where she also earned an Estate Planning Certificate.

While attending law school, Laura worked as a law clerk for the Oregon Department of Justice Trial Division. She also worked as a law clerk at Thorp, Purdy, Jewett, Urness, & Wilkinson, P.C., in Springfield, Oregon, where she became aware of the importance of good communication skills and her own desire to really connect with clients.

Laura participated in a criminal prosecution clinic while attending the University of Oregon, where she represented clients in Douglas County. Laura remembers being impressed with the staff's dedication to their cases and strives to emulate the same high level of commitment today.

Later, while working at a domestic violence clinic in Lane County, Laura was powerfully reminded of the importance of family law as well as the strength and resiliency of human nature. She also discovered the importance of understanding each client's needs and desires in order to make a difference in their lives.

Laura's previous volunteer work includes reading to children on a weekly basis with the Start Making a Reader Today program as well as organizing food drives as a member of the Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity.

Laura grew up in Washington County where she continues to enjoy spending time with childhood friends and family.
